Equisure — Release My Equity Limited

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. FCA FRN 730866 | info@equisure.uk

1. Who we are

Equisure is a trading style of Release My Equity Limited (Co. No. 08525726), authorised and regulated by the FCA (FRN 730866). Registered address: 231 Elliott Street, Tyldesley, Manchester, M29 8DG. Email: info@equisure.uk. Website: equisure.uk.

Equisure UK Limited (Co. No. 16516081) is the group holding entity. Release My Equity Limited is the FCA-authorised entity and data controller for all customer data.

2. Data we collect

We collect only what is genuinely necessary. This includes identity and contact data (name, date of birth, address, email, phone), financial data (income, assets, existing mortgages), property data, and where relevant, health or lifestyle information to identify suitable products (special category data, processed only with explicit written consent). We also record all telephone calls as required by MCOB.

We record vulnerability indicators in line with our IDEA protocol and Consumer Duty obligations. This data is used only to ensure our service is adapted appropriately.

3. How we use your data

Contractual necessity is our primary lawful basis — we need your data to conduct the fact-find, prepare your suitability report, identify suitable products, submit your application, and manage your case. We also process data to comply with legal obligations (FCA MCOB, Money Laundering Regulations, Consumer Duty) and on the basis of legitimate interests (fraud prevention, service improvement). We rely on consent only for special category health data and direct marketing.

Consent is not our primary basis

We rely on contractual necessity — not consent — as the primary basis for processing your data during the advice process. If you withdraw marketing consent, we retain the right to process your data to meet our regulatory and contractual obligations.

4. Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where necessary: with equity release lenders (to process your application), solicitors and surveyors (for completion), compliance consultants (for oversight), and with regulators (FCA, FOS, FSCS, ICO) where legally required. All third parties are subject to data processing agreements.

5. Data retention

Important correction: A previous version of this policy stated records may be retained indefinitely. This has been corrected. We do not retain data indefinitely. Records are reviewed and securely deleted at the end of each retention period unless a legal basis for continued retention exists.

6. Your rights

You have the right to: access your personal data; rectify inaccurate data; erasure (subject to regulatory retention obligations); restrict processing; data portability; object to processing; withdraw consent; and complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk | 0303 123 1113). Send requests to: info@equisure.uk or 231 Elliott Street, Tyldesley, Manchester, M29 8DG.

7. Security and updates

We maintain appropriate technical and organisational security measures. In the event of a data breach posing risk to your rights, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours. This policy was last reviewed May 2025. The current version is always available at equisure.uk/privacy-policy.
